In order to accommodate the needs of all of our clients, Video
Impressions has a variety of options available for posting
projects. Each system configuration incorporates
computerized inter-format editing in a full-service edit suite.
First, we offer state-of-the-art digital
edit suites, which provide a superior tape format for
mastering, and include digital effects, graphics, and character
generation as part of the hourly rate. Along with improved
picture quality, editing to a digital format offers a number of
advantages, including no dropouts on the digital tape, no
generation loss between source footage and the master, and the
ability to perform A/B roll or multiple-layer editing with only
one source tape.
In addition, we provide complete non-linear
editing services. Non-linear editing presents the
flexibility of editing program segments in any order, since
footage, graphics, and transitions can be electronically
reorganized in any sequence. Because programs can be rebuilt
or revised by digitally rearranging the elements, non-linear
editing provides the opportunity for greater experimentation than
does linear editing. It also allows additional versatility
if changes are anticipated or if multiple versions of a program
need to be created from the same footage.
